Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock

The Fraggles are back in “Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock,” premiering January 21, 2022 - Apple TV+ Press

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? Today's adventure takes us deep into the walls and underneath the ground to the land of Fraggle Rock. But this isn't the first time we've been here, we remember this place from long ago and it's time to go back. A reboot of a series that ended in 1987 is just what Apple TV+ needs right? Let's find out!

Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock has 13 episodes in it's first season and it's just as charming as you remember. The muppets look as good as ever, the characters a charming, and the world building in this show is actually quite good! Each episode has a fun adventure with a pretty solid through line of exploring "outer space" which is just our world. There are some pretty great jokes that go along with this too. In the pilot episode one of the characters gets attacked by a dog, when telling his friends about it he says "I was attacked by the most vicious space monster" and it cuts to the dog being cute and cuddly with it's owner.

Now what's not good about this show, you ask? Not much honestly. The plot is pretty straight forward and some of the messages in it are pretty campy and corny but this a television program for kids so it makes sense. If you're looking for a deep experience with themes and intense dialogue and action this show is not for you. But if you're in the mood for some fun jokes and adventures and cute muppets you got yourself a great show!

When reviewing shows I take an average 5 star review of each episode and give additional stars for production, characters, plot, setting, and overall feeling. This show gets a 2 star rating for episodes and then points for production, characters, setting, and overall feeling.

Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock gets 6 out of 10 stars!

S2 Ep. 4- April Showers Bring More Adventures

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This month's adventures take us to a bunch of places including AWOLNATION, Bumblebee, Midgar, and Camp Verde. It's been a pretty solid month with some pretty solid adventures! Let's see which one tops the list and which ones fall flat! 8. "Fetch the Bolt Cutters" by Fiona Apple This album is not at all what I expected it to be at all. I really liked Fiona Apple's older hits but I never actually dove into her discography past that. I didn't really know what I was jumping into and what I heard was not my favorite. The lyrics are cool, some of the piano work is really good but the songs are just strange and that's not really my vibe in music tastes. The songs that stick out on this one are "Shameika" and "Under the Table" but other than that it's just an odd album which isn't my thing. 7. "The New Abnormal" by The Strokes This is the strokes 6th studio al...

What were my favorite albums, songs, video games, and movies from the past decade? What better way to kick off the new year, decade, and season than taking a look back! So here we go, season 2! Top 10 of the OT's! TOP 10 ALBUMS 10. "Awaken, My Love!" by Childish Gambino is one the quintessential albums of the decade. The cultural and musical influences he uses and creates with this album are astonishing! 9. "Wasting Light" by Foo Fighters is one of many they released this decade but is the album I believe is their best of them all. Even with "Concrete and Gold's" production value and "Sonic Highways" concept, this one is just the best. 8. "Sugar" by G. Love and Special Sauce is the return to form for the underrated group. Jimi Jazz returns on bass to create one of the legendary trio...

Pokemon Cinematic Universe

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This week's adventure was Detective Pikachu which is an awesome live action Pokemon Movie but not the Pokemon we were expecting. Even though this movie was really well done, I believe there in the future for us in regards to another cinematic universe. The way they handled this film and the references in it are perfectly done and do set up a future for this for happening. SPOILER WARNING for Detective Pikachu, if you have not seen this please, go watch the film and then come on back! Alright let's get started with the film we received this past weekend. Pokemon: Detective Pikachu is a mystery film taking place in the Pokemon World based on a video game of the same name. Tim Goodman meets a talking Pikachu after his father mysteriously passes away. Throughout the film we realize that it is actually his father trapped inside Pikachu's body although none of the characters know this until the end. The villain's plan...
