Top 10 Video Games of 2022

10. Splatoon 3 for Nintendo Switch is for sure the best multiplayer game of the year but other than the excellent multiplayer action there's not much else to this game.    9. Kirby and the Forgotten Land for the Nintendo Switch was a fun single player game with great platforming and level design. It was short sweet and to the point and that's why it's on this list. 8. Gran Turismo 7  for Playstation 5 is the perfect racing game and it looks spectacular. I was watching a replay of the game and my wife came into the room and said "Are you watching an actual race or is this your game?" It looks that good!   7.  Strange Horticulture for Nintendo Switch is a cozy little game about collecting plants and helping people out. It's part visual novel part mystery and part puzzle game. The aesthetic is fantastic as well.   6. Pokemon Legends Arceus for the Nintendo Switch was the first time I felt that the Pokemon series was evolving and it was a test run for g...

Pokemon Legends Arceus

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? and welcome to the very first Wireless Wednesday! The weekly review post about video games! Today's adventure takes us to the Hisui region of the Pokemon world which may be Sinnoh in the past or may be Sinnoh in another dimension, the game doesn't entirely clear that up. It's been about two weeks since the game was released and I have sunk about 40 hours into it so it's safe to say I am ready to review it! So let's jump right in! This is not your typical Pokemon game. The basic premise is still there, you are tasked with completing the Pokédex and documenting every Pokemon in the region but this time the game gives you incentive to reach that goal and gives you different tasks and research points to find for each Pokemon. The battle system is still there although with minor tweaks but you don't technically have to enter a battle with a wild Pokemon in order to catch it and the game flows in and out of ba...

S3 Ep. 11- November

Welcome back to Thrak Attack, what's your adventure? This month had a ton of new adventures that took us all over the place! We were taken to 1990's UK and NYC, a magical Encanto in Colombia, a return to Skyrim and the Sinnoh region, the studio of Silk Sonic, the home of Adele, and many more! It's been a great month so let's get going with the Top 10 Adventures of November 2021! 10. Spencer is a period drama piece all about Princess Diana. The movie stars Kristen Stewart as Diana Spencer and her struggles with fitting into the royal family. Stewart does a fantastic job at playing this historical figure, the music is suspenseful and jazzy, and the themes throughout the film are very specific and deep. The problem with the film, as my wife who is a huge history buff especially when it comes to European royalty, is that some of the facts in the film are very different than what actually happened. This coupled with a slow pace makes this movie less than stellar but still ...

S2 Ep. 10: October!

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This month during spooky season has proved that Rock and Roll is not dead! We had many rock albums dropping this month, a few video games, and a movie from Disney+! So let's see what spooky season brought us this year! Also full disclosure, I've been playing Pikmin 3 and haven't gotten around to Watchdog Legions. I will get to it and it'll be on the final end of the year list! October Top 8! (Like Myspace) 8. Super Mario 35 is a blast from the past brought into the present climate of video games that was fun for a few minutes. I know why it's called 35 because that's how many other players are playing against you and it's Super Mario's 35th anniversary but for me it was called 35 because that's the amount of minutes I enjoyed it.  7.   "2020" by Bon Jovi is an album about the culture and climate of this weird year! It has a few notable songs such as "Beautiful Drug" and ...

JUNE!

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What’s your adventure? This month’s adventures took us to 2 destinations, many an album, an awful music, and some solid video games! Just so your aware, I am traveling for the summer (and being safe and social distancing) and am informing you that I am well aware that Last of Us Part 2 is the best adventure of the month but I do not have my PS4 at this moment so it will have to wait until the end of the year to make it’s way to the Top 10 Video Games of the year! With all of that out of the way, let’s get started! Top 10 of the month! 10. Artemis Fowl      I was very excited for this movie to release last year and after it’s 3rd release date and push to Disney+ release I knew it was going to be awful but not THAT awful. It’s possibly one of the worst movie I have ever seen and I’m glad I didn’t pay to see it in theaters! It’s clunky, the actors don’t care, and the stories are so misguided that I had no idea what actually happened in the f...

S2 Ep. 3- March into Quarantine!

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure! This week's adventure takes us through one of the most uncertain and insane months the blog (and maybe the world?) has ever seen! Through the COVID-19 scare we had many changed, updates, and cancellations of various adventures. I hope everyone is being safe and healthy but still going on adventures throughout their self quarantine! With all of that out of the way, let's countdown this month's best adventures! Side note, Milan was supposed to be on this list but they have not released it yet so that kinda stinks (I was hoping for a Disney+ release!). Anyhoot, let's get started! 10. "Baby, It's Okay" by Flora Cash sounds like the group's first full length album but it is not. Now I understand why they sound so lazy and jaded throughout the whole thing. The single of the album is from 2 years ago and it's one of the only songs worth mentioning on the album (including "In a Bubble")...
