#9- Tempe Arts Festival

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! I hope you all are having an amazing week and are ready for the last month of the year! 2018 is almost done! So this week there were no big releases and I thought about doing a Top 5 of November episode but I did get to go to the Tempe Festival of the Arts. So we'll go through some news, a trailer breakdown, the review of the event, and then the Top 5 of November. This short post is turning into a long one. Let's get rocking!

NEWS!
-Red Dead Redemption 2 finally released its online functionality. I'll eventually go back into that game.
-Daredevil Season 4 has been cancelled. I'm hoping we get a season of Defenders to resolve everything and then call it a day on these.
-Bethesda has pushed back the "Elder Scrolls: Blades" mobile game to 2019. I would rather have a complete game than a quick release.
-There are 500,000 Spongebob fans that signed a petition to have "Sweet Victory" performed at the Super Bowl Halftime show. I am one of those fans.
-Kevin Hart will be hosting the Oscars this year. He's a great choice to host.
-Trainer battles are coming to Pokemon Go. It's about damn time!

TRAILERS!

Captain Marvel received her second trailer this week and delves more into the concept of false identity or memories. This trailer is great because it establishes the threat of the film but not the antagonist, the premise of the movie but not the plot, and the look of this film but none of the big fight scenes. It's going to be a great film and I am so excited for the next installment of the MCU and the first female led MCU film (even though it should have been the Wasp).

REVIEW!

So me and my roommate decided to pick up playing Disc Golf. It's a fun, and free, activity after you buy your discs and get to the course. Unfortunately, every single course is at least 30 min away from our house. So last weekend we decided to try a new course at Papago Park. I've been to the golf course and it's super nice, but the disc golf course was super weird. We played the back 9 first, that was a mistake, because it was not well marked at all and there was glass everywhere. The front 9 were much nicer by the creek and better markings of where to throw to. We finished our round with a much better understanding of the park and were invited to head to the Tempe Festival of the Arts.

So we drove downtown through all the craziness and finally found some parking. It was right off of Ash avenue and we were waiting to meet up with them and decided to watch the 10 foot Unicorn who was a street performer who rode a giant unicycle with a unicorn mask on it.

We finally met up and and I caught some great Pokemon, it was Pokemon Go's special community event. I actually caught a shiny Larvitar so now I have a Shiny Tyranitar and a shiny Metagross. Anyways, we ended up in the beer garden area and got some food at a place called Cabin. They had a Pumpkin Port on tap and I also got some potato skins. We also watched a 30 min sound check for the Crosstown Players who were awesome but not worth the 40 minute wait during the sound check. We finally got to watching the band and they were really great while I sipped on a Four Peaks Tempe Festival for the Arts Golden Lager. Which I believe was just a special batch of their Golden Lager.

We walked around the festival and saw some pretty amazing art, with a lot of variety too. There was 2D paintings, 3D sculpture, practical art, drawings, live art, street performers, music, and many many more. I did not purchase anything but it was diffidently worth it to go and spend a delightful afternoon. I would diffidently recommend checking it out next year.

November Top 5

1. Bohemian Rhapsody
2. Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu
3. "Simulation Theory" by Muse
4. Robin Hood
5. Fallout 76

December is looking to be a good month of releases so make sure to stay in touch and keep reading! We have Smash Bros Ultimate coming up, Aquaman, and Into the Spiderverse so I hope you stay with us through all of it!

                                                              All the Best, Ross

El Deafo

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This week's adventure takes into the world of Cece Bell's graphic novel turned into an Apple TV+ series titled "El Deafo". It is a semi autobiographical tale of her early life and dealing with her struggles of being deaf. The series also features original music from Waxahatchee a very underrated artist in my opinion! So let's get started on our review and head to Virginia to meet Cece Bell in "El Deafo" First off I would like to say the character designs are super cute and enjoyable to watch. I love the design of the rabbits and the clean lines of the show are very pleasant to look at. The tone of the show is very colorful yet muted and pastel which I really enjoy.  Now I won't give away the plot but as you can guess from the title and the poster that this is the story of how Cece lost her hearing. It is great to see a story for children addressing this topic for them to understand the issue

POKEMON SWORD AND SHIELD LEAKS!!!

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD DO NO READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS! Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This week's adventure is not a traditional adventure. In 2 weeks Pokemon Sword and Shield will be releasing on Nintendo Switch and we got almost every new Pokemon leaked this week! Here's how this will go, I will talk little bit about my thoughts on each line and at the end tell you what my first run through team will be. Let's get started! Grookey, Thwackey, and Rilaboom is the pure grass starter line. it's a great line but I don't like the middle evolution's coloring. It's like green, bright green, and then brown? It just seems odd but I love the idea of the drummer gorilla! Scorbunny, Raboot, and Cinderace is the pure fire starter line. It's not the best line because I don't like the clothes The Pokemon are wearing in their designs. Maybe it'll look better in motions but It's not my favorite. Sobble, Drizzle,

Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? Today's adventure takes us deep into the walls and underneath the ground to the land of Fraggle Rock. But this isn't the first time we've been here, we remember this place from long ago and it's time to go back. A reboot of a series that ended in 1987 is just what Apple TV+ needs right? Let's find out! Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock has 13 episodes in it's first season and it's just as charming as you remember. The muppets look as good as ever, the characters a charming, and the world building in this show is actually quite good! Each episode has a fun adventure with a pretty solid through line of exploring "outer space" which is just our world. There are some pretty great jokes that go along with this too. In the pilot episode one of the characters gets attacked by a dog, when telling his friends about it he says "I was attacked by the most vicious space monster" and it cuts to t
