S1 Ep. 12- Scary Pockets

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This week's adventures consisted of a bunch of news due to the rollover from last week, a bunch of trailers due to the same, and finally a review of a concert I went to last weekend. So with all of that out of the way, let's get started!

NEWS!
-Nindies Showcase 2019 gave us some big announcements on the Indie game scene for switch. The highlights are Cuphead, The Red Lantern, Pine, and Cadence of Hyrule.
-Disney and Fox merger finally goes through and is official! Deadpool celebrates this by wearing his mickey ears.
-After a 12 year hiatus; Zoids returns with an all new anime, video game, and toys!
-James Gunn is back on board Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Did we ever doubt it?
-Treeko is the featured Pokemon for Pokemon Go's Community day tomorrow evening!

TRAILERS!

Aladdin is getting a live action remake and this trailer finally makes it look like it's worth watching. It still doesn't look great or different than the original but it still looks like a fun movie. This is why these live action remakes don't work. If they do the same thing it's the same as the old movie and if they try to add something new it's not true to the original. It's a losing battle that Disney will never win but somehow still make a ton of money doing.

Avengers: Endgame gets it's 3rd trailer and still doesn't give away anything. It's literally just building up the hype for this movie and showcasing how much has gone into it. Most of the trailer is flashbacks of other films in the MCU and it really shows how far they have all come. I am so excited for this film and to have an ending to the series I've been watching since I was 17 years old.

I don't want it to happen but Toy Story 4 is happening and it looks awful. It looks like exactly what a Toy Story movie is but the 4th time. A new favorite toy, toys get lost, toys meet new toys, toys have a existential crisis, surprise villain! (Bo Peep), tears. It's going to be exactly what a Toy Story movie should be and that's why I refuse to watch it.

Yesterday takes the concept "What if _____ never existed, what would you do?" and makes a movie about it with Beatles and their music. I am super excited for this film and I'm expecting it to be the movie of the year (possibly behind Endgame!).

REVIEWS!

Scary Pockets @ Valley Bar in downtown Phoenix was one of the most high energy shows I've ever seen. Jack Conte, the keyboardist, is the best live performer I have ever seen. It was such a good show! If you haven't listened to Scary Pockets, they are funk group that plays covers of popular songs. Some of my favorites are "Come Together", "Sweet Child O' Mine", "Born This Way", and "I Can't Make You Love Me". I really don't much else to say other than check them out and support their amazing music! The highlight of the night was buying their vinyl of original songs and looking up and see them walk up to the table! I got to meet them, get a picture, and get the vinyl signed! It's diffidently worth looking into!

So for real check out Scary Pockets its such a fun sound and a fun group to watch and listen to. Next week is going to be a big week for almost every aspect of Thrak Attack! "Yoshi's Crafted World" releases on Switch, Billie Eillish is releasing a new album, and Dumbo will hit theaters. It's going to be a big week for the last week of March! Thank you for reading and keep going on adventures!

                                                      All the Best, Ross

S3 Finale: Top 10 Shows of 2021

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This year I added a new category to Thrak Attack's lineups of adventures. I've never been a big TV show follower but I felt like with the MCU adding TV shows and access to some new streaming services to my roster over quarantine that it was time to add those adventures in! So here is a Thrak Attack first, The Top 10 Shows of 2021! 10. Hawkeye on Disney+  is not a great mini series but has some great character introductions and moments for the MCU. Most importantly introducing Kate Bishop who will hopefully take up the mantle of Hawkeye, Yelena reconciling with Clint about Natasha's death in Endgame, and the reintroduction of a character from the Netflix Marvel shows!   9. The Shrink Next Door on Apple TV+ was a short and sweet show based on a podcast which is an interesting transition. Both Paul Rudd and Will Ferrel shine in this show showcasing both of their acting chops. The plot is pretty simple but is com...

Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? Today's adventure takes us deep into the walls and underneath the ground to the land of Fraggle Rock. But this isn't the first time we've been here, we remember this place from long ago and it's time to go back. A reboot of a series that ended in 1987 is just what Apple TV+ needs right? Let's find out! Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock has 13 episodes in it's first season and it's just as charming as you remember. The muppets look as good as ever, the characters a charming, and the world building in this show is actually quite good! Each episode has a fun adventure with a pretty solid through line of exploring "outer space" which is just our world. There are some pretty great jokes that go along with this too. In the pilot episode one of the characters gets attacked by a dog, when telling his friends about it he says "I was attacked by the most vicious space monster" and it cuts to t...

S2 Finale- Top 10 Songs of 2020

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This year brought us a ton of music and great albums but sometimes a specific song transcends the album that it's on and sometimes artists release singles. So this is the list celebrating those gems on mediocre albums and singles artists have released throughout the year! Top 10 Songs of 2020 10. "When You Get That Feeling" by Nate Bo is a debut song from one of my good friends. It's a solid jam with an R&B vibe and wicked vibraphone solo. I used to play music with Nate in college and I'm glad to see him with a successful first song! I can't wait to see what's next for Nate in his career! 9. "Twice Your Size" by Declan McKenna is off his sophomore album titled "Zeros". Although the album suffered from production issues that muddied up the brilliant lyrics, this is the few songs that didn't suffer from that. The energy that this song brings to the table is exactly what t...
