S1 Ep. 30- Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This is the final summer post and after this we'll be back to normal schedule. After the review I will let you know what that means but first let's talk about the latest game I've been playing...

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Full disclosure, the only thing I know about Fire Emblem is whatever is in Super Smash Bros. So going into this game I knew nothing about the series. Luckily, I didn't feel like I needed to which was super refreshing! Fire Emblem has been a HUGE series in Japan since 1990 and has only made it big in the states over the past few years with the titles on the 3DS.
Now we have our first Fire Emblem title for the Nintendo Switch. This is not the first time on a home console but I feel like Fire Emblem lends itself to being played on the go but the Switch is perfect for it because the series has jumped back and forth between handhelds and home consoles.
This game is an experience though and I have not played enough of it to give it a full in depth review but I have gotten a feel for it and I have some thoughts. Lets talk about the big 4 topics when it comes to games... Graphics, Gameplay, UI, and Story!

Graphics!
These are some of the best graphics I have seen on the Nintendo Switch. The style is beautiful and is somewhat akin to an anime but has it's own distinctive style. I thought the heavy outlines would be off-putting for me but the more I played the more I enjoyed it. During the battles the backgrounds are a little stale but the Monastery is absolutely stunning and the characters are all really well designed!

Gameplay!
I don't like this style of gameplay, I finally figured it out after attempting the mock battle at least 5 times before figuring out how to actually play through it. I was never good at that style of game (I gave up on Pokemon Conquest and Mario + Rabbids halfway through the game). But with my personal biases aside, the gameplay is streamlined and easy to understand. There are a lot of stats and numbers and upgrades but I feel like every one of them matters which is hard to do with everyone of them. I feel like my characters are really growing and learning at the monastery. The battles are only half of the gameplay, most of the time your teaching your students, doing side quests, and bonding with the people in the monastery! It's a really fun experience that I can forgive my lack of skill on the battlefield.

User Interface!
There are A LOT of stats, numbers, weapons, items, quests, characters, and options in this game and usually with all of those things some of them feel lost or unimportant but I do not feel that way with this game. In the battles it's very clear of what you can do and how to do it, in the monastery if I'm on a side quest the map make sense, if I'm on 10 quests at once I can easily check and see what I'm supposed to be doing. It's just a well designed game especially for everything in it!

Story!
I am so engrossed in this story and the way it's been presented thus far! I am invested in the world they live in and understood everyone's ideals and what house or legion they belong to. Each of those houses have about 10 students in them all with diverse and specific characters that are all very thought out. There's a history between certain characters that I can't wait to find out about, and the mystery of the girl talking to you throughout the game!? Who is she?! I want to know!

Anyways, after playing the quick and ridiculously fun story of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 which I know just about everything about, this new experience of a game that I can really sink my teeth into is great! I'm glad my next game is Astral Chain which I still have a month before it's release so I can really delve into this one and give it it's full attention it deserves! Is this game going on my ultimate shelf? YES!!!!

El Deafo

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This week's adventure takes into the world of Cece Bell's graphic novel turned into an Apple TV+ series titled "El Deafo". It is a semi autobiographical tale of her early life and dealing with her struggles of being deaf. The series also features original music from Waxahatchee a very underrated artist in my opinion! So let's get started on our review and head to Virginia to meet Cece Bell in "El Deafo" First off I would like to say the character designs are super cute and enjoyable to watch. I love the design of the rabbits and the clean lines of the show are very pleasant to look at. The tone of the show is very colorful yet muted and pastel which I really enjoy.  Now I won't give away the plot but as you can guess from the title and the poster that this is the story of how Cece lost her hearing. It is great to see a story for children addressing this topic for them to understand the issue

POKEMON SWORD AND SHIELD LEAKS!!!

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD DO NO READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS! Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This week's adventure is not a traditional adventure. In 2 weeks Pokemon Sword and Shield will be releasing on Nintendo Switch and we got almost every new Pokemon leaked this week! Here's how this will go, I will talk little bit about my thoughts on each line and at the end tell you what my first run through team will be. Let's get started! Grookey, Thwackey, and Rilaboom is the pure grass starter line. it's a great line but I don't like the middle evolution's coloring. It's like green, bright green, and then brown? It just seems odd but I love the idea of the drummer gorilla! Scorbunny, Raboot, and Cinderace is the pure fire starter line. It's not the best line because I don't like the clothes The Pokemon are wearing in their designs. Maybe it'll look better in motions but It's not my favorite. Sobble, Drizzle,

Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? Today's adventure takes us deep into the walls and underneath the ground to the land of Fraggle Rock. But this isn't the first time we've been here, we remember this place from long ago and it's time to go back. A reboot of a series that ended in 1987 is just what Apple TV+ needs right? Let's find out! Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock has 13 episodes in it's first season and it's just as charming as you remember. The muppets look as good as ever, the characters a charming, and the world building in this show is actually quite good! Each episode has a fun adventure with a pretty solid through line of exploring "outer space" which is just our world. There are some pretty great jokes that go along with this too. In the pilot episode one of the characters gets attacked by a dog, when telling his friends about it he says "I was attacked by the most vicious space monster" and it cuts to t
