S1 Ep. 32- Tyler Childers

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This week's adventures took me back to my college days in Huntington, West Virginia at Marshall University. A group of musicians who I personally know from West Virginia! So without further chatting, let's dive right into some news!

NEWS!
-Jack Black and Jack White will finally collaborate on music with Tenacious D! My high school self is jumping up and down with joy.
-Deadpool, X-Men, and the Fantastic Four are all now officially apart of Marvel Studios. Will we be introduced to them during phase 4? Or will phase 5 be the one? I have theories, maybe next week I'll do a Phase 4 theory episode!
-Speaking of the MCU, there are rumors that Keanu Reeves will be playing Namor in the MCU. I would love seeing him make his debut in Black Panther 2! (again, we'll go through that next week)
-Jack White celebrates the 20th anniversary of the debut White Stripes album with a special edition vinyl box set and I want it!

POKEMON NEWS! (Yes, it deserves it's own section)

This week Pokemon revealed some new information about Pokemon Sword and Shield which will be releasing on November 15th.
Galarian forms are official and I can't wait to see some more forms. This announcement also means the regional variants aren't confined to Generation 1 Pokemon. Galarain Weezing has a new color scheme and has a top hat/smoke stack design which looks really cool but really dumb at the same time. It is also a poison/fairy type which is the first of its kind. Galarian zigzagoon and linoone have a new color scheme, tongue, and typing which is dark/normal. It also receives an extra evolution named Obstagoon which is 100000% going on the team. It is based off of Gene Simmons which makes him even cooler. Morpeko is a dark/electric type which is a lame pikachu clone with a dumb gimmick but cool typing. Team Yell was also announced as the "evil" team even though they look more annoying than evil. A few more characters were revealed but that's not really important until the games come out.

"Country Squire" by Tyler Childers

I am not a country music fan (even though I went to college in West Virginia for 5 years and have lived in Phoenix for 5 years) but I can appreciate a good country artist when I hear them. I do not personally know Tyler but I did play in the Jazz Band with Craig and Rod who are the bass player and drummer for the group. They are both super talented musicians and really cool guys! Anyways, they have been playing with Tyler for a while now but recently released a new album and got invited to perform on the Jimmy Fallon Show to promote their new music!

Please check out the link to the video of their performance on the show! Now, let's get onto the review of the new album! Keep in mind I am not a country music fan.

1. Country Squire- Just a fun country song with a bit too much twang for me but opens it up nicely.
2. Bus Route- This song doesn't do it for me.
3. Creeper- This is such a good song with a lot great imagery and has a beautiful sound.
4. Gemini- Another beautiful song on the album.
5. House Fire- The song performed on Jimmy Fallon and a really good country jam!
6. Ever Lovin' Hand- This one also doesn't do it for me.
7. Peace of Mind- this one I have no recollection of
8. All Your'n- This is my favorite song on the album and I do love the twang in this one.
9. Matthew- I love the intro to this song! Fade from Indian music to Country is just great!

So the album as a whole is pretty solid and its one of the few country albums I can listen to all the way through so I am glad they are doing good things and are being successful! And since I can make it through this album without groaning from too much twang, I am going to put this one on my ultimate shelf! Support these guys! They're great musicians and great guys!

Next week might be light on the reviews so some of the blog may be about the MCU, we shall see what I can find to review! Thanks for reading! Keep going on adventures!

                                     All the Best, Ross

S3 Finale: Top 10 Shows of 2021

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This year I added a new category to Thrak Attack's lineups of adventures. I've never been a big TV show follower but I felt like with the MCU adding TV shows and access to some new streaming services to my roster over quarantine that it was time to add those adventures in! So here is a Thrak Attack first, The Top 10 Shows of 2021! 10. Hawkeye on Disney+  is not a great mini series but has some great character introductions and moments for the MCU. Most importantly introducing Kate Bishop who will hopefully take up the mantle of Hawkeye, Yelena reconciling with Clint about Natasha's death in Endgame, and the reintroduction of a character from the Netflix Marvel shows!   9. The Shrink Next Door on Apple TV+ was a short and sweet show based on a podcast which is an interesting transition. Both Paul Rudd and Will Ferrel shine in this show showcasing both of their acting chops. The plot is pretty simple but is com...

Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? Today's adventure takes us deep into the walls and underneath the ground to the land of Fraggle Rock. But this isn't the first time we've been here, we remember this place from long ago and it's time to go back. A reboot of a series that ended in 1987 is just what Apple TV+ needs right? Let's find out! Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock has 13 episodes in it's first season and it's just as charming as you remember. The muppets look as good as ever, the characters a charming, and the world building in this show is actually quite good! Each episode has a fun adventure with a pretty solid through line of exploring "outer space" which is just our world. There are some pretty great jokes that go along with this too. In the pilot episode one of the characters gets attacked by a dog, when telling his friends about it he says "I was attacked by the most vicious space monster" and it cuts to t...

S2 Finale- Top 10 Songs of 2020

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This year brought us a ton of music and great albums but sometimes a specific song transcends the album that it's on and sometimes artists release singles. So this is the list celebrating those gems on mediocre albums and singles artists have released throughout the year! Top 10 Songs of 2020 10. "When You Get That Feeling" by Nate Bo is a debut song from one of my good friends. It's a solid jam with an R&B vibe and wicked vibraphone solo. I used to play music with Nate in college and I'm glad to see him with a successful first song! I can't wait to see what's next for Nate in his career! 9. "Twice Your Size" by Declan McKenna is off his sophomore album titled "Zeros". Although the album suffered from production issues that muddied up the brilliant lyrics, this is the few songs that didn't suffer from that. The energy that this song brings to the table is exactly what t...
