Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This week's adventures took us to 2 different events in and around the Phoenix area. The first was a the Tyler Childers concert at the Van Buren and the second was Beer and Bones at the Arizona Museum of Natural History. If you want to see photos of these events please check out the facebook and instagram pages. We also have a trailer to review and of course a bunch on news so let's get into it!
NEWS!
-Disney Skyliner reopens with new hours after last week's disastrous shutdown that let guests stranded in the air for hours.
-New Dynamax Pokemon revealed which I am not a fan of due to the heavy focus on Gen 1 Pokemon (Pikachu, Eevee, Charizard, Butterfree, and Meowth).
-Zoey Kravitz will play Catwoman in "The Batman" with Robert Pattinson
-Pokemon Go Halloween event features Gen 5 ghost types such as Yamask, Gollet, and Litwick as well as a festive Pikachu and double candies!
-Sam Raimi will be directing a new horror movie... that's the news apparently.
-Robert Zemeckis will be directing a live action Pinocchio film
-Venom 2 casts Naomi Harris as Shriek.
TRAILERS!
-Dolittle stars pretty much everyone including Tom Holland, Michael Sheen, Rami Malek, Emma Thompson, Kumail Nanjiani, Antonio Banderas, Selena Gomez, John Cena, Octavia Spencer, and of course Robert Downey Jr. I always loved Dr. Dolittle especially the insane films with Eddie Murphy which I know aren't traditional or accurate at all but the idea is very intriguing. I hope that this version of the movie keeps the hilarity but also gives more depth into the character. This trailer does not do a good job though and some of the clips they decided to chose were very off to me (especially the one on the ship with the gorilla). But regardless I will most likely see this film because I love Robert Downey Jr. and a good adventure film.
REVIEWS!
I went to college at Marshall University where I met Craig Burletic and Rod Elkins in the jazz band. Both were very talented musicians and I always knew they were going somewhere with their talent. Little did I know, Tyler Childers was also in Huntington writing songs and playing music around the tristate area. Now, 10 years later I got to see Craig and Rod perform with Tyler Childers in their sold out show at the Van Buren in Phoenix, AZ. It was great to see them up on stage and play to a crowd that knows all of the songs! Some of the highlights were "Shake this Frost", "Charleston Girl", "Country Squire", and "All Your'n". The only issue I had with this concert was the point that it proved to me. Country music fans are the worst. Phrases I heard while walking through the crowd "Too many dirty Mexicans", "If you don't stop me I'm gonna put my hands down your pants", "don't look at my girl!". Just the worst kind of people were at this concert which is sad. Tyler's music promotes the country lifestyle but the humility and humbleness of it all. There is no bigotry in his music and that is what I saw during the concert and the 2 fights that broke out during the concert. All things considered, the musicality of the concert was amazing! If. you don't know who Tyler Childers please check him out! Him and his band are a great group of guys who are making a name for themselves!
Beer and Bones was a great event at the Arizona Museum of Natural History in Mesa. It was an extended hours event at the museum with special exhibits and breweries scattered throughout the museum. Some breweries represented were Mother Bunch, SanTan, and Arizona Monks. The beer was great the museum was amazing and WAY bigger than expected and the special exhibits were super cool like the snakes and birds. Such a cool event that will diffidently become a yearly event for us!
That's the blog this week! Next week I will be reviewing "Little Town Hero" a new game freak game for the Nintendo Switch, and a day trip up to Payson, AZ. So if you're up for more adventures come back to the blog and check our facebook and instagram pages as well as our podcast "Ross and Alan Fix Everything".
