S1 Ep. 48- Frozen 2

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This week's adventure took us back to Arendelle and beyond! Frozen 2 was a fantastic sequel that built on the lore and world of that story with an impactful story. Although it was clearly a tacked on story and afterthought, they did an awesome job continuing the story. The music was great, the characters were great, and the visuals were fantastic. I don't often see 3D movies but this one was well worth it!

I really don't have a lot to say about this movie except that's really good but it also leaves a lot to be desired. Like some plot points that were not answered correctly or some recurring jokes that just didn't land.

My favorite concept from this film has been the dynamic between Anna and Elsa. Elsa has powers but always seems to cause the issues rather than solve them. Anna has no powers but has the power to fix all of the problems. It's really great lesson and moral to the story!

We are well into the era of Disney sequels (Frozen 2 and Ralph Breaks the Internet are just the beginning) but this one actually gives me promise for the future of the studio. This movie will be going onto the ultimate shelf just like the original.

Next week we'll be winding down and starting to look at the end of the year Top 10 lists. There's still one more piece of content has to offer and it's a big one from a galaxy far, far away!

From Iggy Pop to Lana Del Rey to Billie Holiday, this album takes to many genres but somehow feels stale through Cat Power's style.  I knew this was a cover album and was excited to hear all the different songs sung in a new style. Unfortunately these songs are more than just the surface songs and singles. These are lesser known songs from big artists. I loved trying to guess who's song it was and then looking it up afterwards. Even though the artists she covers are from all sorts of genres this album is such a drag to listen to. The 12 songs slog on for 43 minutes and never feel like it's going anywhere. It's like she took the personality from the different artists but not any of the passion. I felt very bored listening to the songs. Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock

  Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? Today's adventure takes us deep into the walls and underneath the ground to the land of Fraggle Rock. But this isn't the first time we've been here, we remember this place from long ago and it's time to go back. A reboot of a series that ended in 1987 is just what Apple TV+ needs right? Let's find out! Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock has 13 episodes in it's first season and it's just as charming as you remember. The muppets look as good as ever, the characters a charming, and the world building in this show is actually quite good! Each episode has a fun adventure with a pretty solid through line of exploring "outer space" which is just our world. There are some pretty great jokes that go along with this too. Hotel Transylvania 4: Transformania

  Welcome back to Thrak Attack, what's your adventure? Today's adventure takes us to the amazon rainforest on a quest for a crystal to change humans into monsters and monsters into humans. In the 4th installment of this weirdly long running series that is the plot! Does it make sense? Is it enjoyable to watch? Are there some redeeming qualities to this series that went from theater releases to straight to streaming? We shall see. Like I said before this is the fourth installment to the Hotel Transylvania series and I did not realize it was successful enough to make a fourth one. However, the first three were theatrical releases and this time around it was released only on Amazon Prime.
