Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? And welcome to Movie Tuesdays! Every Tuesday I'm hoping to review a movie that has been released within the past week, some weeks may not have a review but I managed to scrounge one up for this week's first post! Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild is a Disney+ exclusive and I cannot believe that before the Fox merger they were actually going to release this film in theaters! Here is the review!

This is the 6th Ice Age film since 2002 when it began and the original film and cast were great! The animation was cutting edge, the voices were really well done, the marketing for the film was fantastic, and it had a large cultural impact on how the public perceived digital animation! Unfortunately after 20 years, the original cast has dropped out even though they are using the same characters and the story telling has really suffered. In this film Crash and Eddie, two of the most annoying characters, are the leads as they leave the pack and join Buck Wild on an adventure only to find out that what they've been looking for the whole time is what the pack was giving them. It's a very paint by numbers plot.

The insane thing to me is how bad the animation is in this film. It's just choppy and the textures are terrible. It was supposed to be released in theaters so the pre production should have been top notch but the end result was a cheap looking mess for a huge studio. I am shocked that Disney actually put their logo at the start of the movie and I'm assuming that's just to show how much the studio owns at this point. 

I'm not trying to be harsh on this movie it's just not very fun either even with Simon Pegg who is a fantastic voice actor the main character of Buck Wild does not seem very fun but is more annoying than anything else. It just goes to show what happens when movie studios take a one dimensional side character and make them the main character (I'm looking at you Finding Dory). 

When reviewing movies I give out stars to these categories... cinematography, set design, plot, costuming, music, dialogue, pacing, themes, acting, and overall feeling. I am only giving a point to costuming due to the character designs.

The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild get 1 out of 10 stars.

Unfortunately these songs are more than just the surface songs and singles. These are lesser known songs from big artists. I loved trying to guess who's song it was and then looking it up afterwards. Even though the artists she covers are from all sorts of genres this album is such a drag to listen to. The 12 songs slog on for 43 minutes and never feel like it's going anywhere. It's like she took the personality from the different artists but not any of the passion. I felt very bored listening to the songs. POKEMON SWORD AND SHIELD LEAKS!!!

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD DO NO READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS! Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This week's adventure is not a traditional adventure. Grookey, Thwackey, and Rilaboom is the pure grass starter line. it's a great line but I don't like the middle evolution's coloring. It's like green, bright green, and then brown? It just seems odd but I love the idea of the drummer gorilla! Scorbunny, Raboot, and Cinderace is the pure fire starter line. Hotel Transylvania 4: Transformania

  Welcome back to Thrak Attack, what's your adventure? Today's adventure takes us to the amazon rainforest on a quest for a crystal to change humans into monsters and monsters into humans. In the 4th installment of this weirdly long running series that is the plot! Does it make sense? Is it enjoyable to watch? Are there some redeeming qualities to this series that went from theater releases to straight to streaming? We shall see. Like I said before this is the fourth installment to the Hotel Transylvania series and I did not realize it was successful enough to make a fourth one. However, the first three were theatrical releases and this time around it was released only on Amazon Prime.
