10. "Dance Fever" by Florence + The Machine is not an album made for me but I still enjoyed it, although not as much as her previous albums, but again this is not an album intended for me.
9. "Entering Heaven Alive" by Jack White is his second album released this year and although it was a nice change of pace of the hard hitting first album it didn't have the same thematic through lines as the first one.
8. "Dawn FM" by The Weeknd a great concept for an album with some great tunes and special guests (including Jim Carey) but unfortunately did not scratch the itch of new music for long.
7. "Twelve Carat Toothache" by Post Malone what a great surprise album during the summer! I was generally surprised to see that his new album released and that it was actually pretty good!
6. "Denim & Diamonds" by Nikki Lane is another surprise album that I did not intend to be in on this list but here it is! Nikki Lane is one of the few country artist that dare to play true country music and not stadium country, along with the next artist on this list!
5. "Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven?" by Tyler Childers is a triple album that has three versions of the same song, which sounds boring but it is actually a very exciting concept that does a great job showing what country music can be!
4. "Midnights" by Taylor Swift this album took the world by storm and for good reason! There are some duds but the majority of the album is really great! It is also the first album to have all 10 songs on the billboard top 10 to be by the same artist AND the first time it's been all female as well!
3. "Unlimited Love" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is the first of two albums released by the legendary group this year. Although the second has some great songs it's mostly filler. If the two albums were to become one and combined their best songs, this would hands down be the best album of the year but unfortunately they went with quantity over quality with this one.
2. "Fear of the Dawn" by Jack White has such a great message... "will you be happy with your accomplishments if you know you'll die tomorrow? Or will you fear that next sunrise?" Every second of this album has some version of that question and it is perfection!
1. "Give Me the Future" by Bastille is the most cohesive album this year and does such a great job of telling a story but keeping it fresh. Every song sounds unique but exactly as Bastille should sound and every song adds to the essential theme that "are our dreams better than reality and should we wake up?"
