S3 Ep. 3- March forth!

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This month had a ton of great adventures and it was hard to choose a Top 10! But we narrowed it down! This month had tons of great music, a few great games, and some solid movies and TV shows (although I haven't gotten to the Mighty Ducks reboot yet). So let's get marching into March! 10. "Your Welcome" by A Day To Remember is a decent album from a band that hasn't really been relevant for about 10 years. I did have some issues with this album such as the lack of variety in the music which made it feel stale; and the corny lyrics that were screamed instead of sung. It's not that I don't like screaming (you'll see later on this list) but the lyrics and songs didn't translate to the music the band was presenting and it felt awkward. The breakout tracks are "F.Y.M" and "Bloodsucker". 9. Coming 2 America is a sequel to a movie from the 1980's that didn't need to be ...

S3 Ep. 2- February

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! It has been a whirlwind month with lots of freezing nights. I hope all is well and got to settle in and get to experience these adventures that I did! Tons of new music, a few new games and movies, and one killer TV series! Here are the Top 10 releases of February 2021! 10. "Little Oblivions" by Julien Baker is not a great album. Granted I only had a day to really dive into it so maybe it'll gain some steam after a little more time with it but I just did not enjoy it. I love her earlier music and it truly features lots of heart but this one seems like an album for the sake of an album. It just a lifeless and receptive sound with nothing to grab my attention. Not my favorite obviously but better than some other releases this month.  9. Blue Fire for the Nintendo Switch is a crossover of Legend of Zelda and Hollowknight. The spooky art style and tight platforming mixed with the fantasy nature of the different shrines and levels make it feel ...

S3 Ep. 1- January 2021

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! I have traveled far and wide this January to find many of adventures in many strange lands. There was a total of 13 adventures and different dimensions I traveled to this January which is a fantastic showing for a usually bland month! I will be reviewing 10 of these encounters in a Top 10 of January list! The adventures that did not make the cut were Iris Fall for Nintendo Switch, "Songs for the Drunk and Brokenhearted" by Passenger, and "Unbothered" by Lil Skies. I hope you enjoy the adventures as much as I did so let's get started! 10. Nuts is a fun game about observing a photographing squirrels. It's a less interesting version of Pokemon snap but the art style, chill paced game play, and gameplay loop was just darling. Unfortunately I played this game on Apple Arcade on my iPad which did not benefit the controls at all. That was my one complaint with the game which had nothing to do with the game but the platform.  9. Outsi...

S3 Ep. 0- 2021, Here we come!

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? I hope you all had a wonderful New Years eve and stayed safe and healthy! I know I was ready for 2020 to be over and 2021 to begin! This upcoming year is going to bring major life events for me and tons of new stories to dive into. Speaking of diving into stories, the format of the blog will be changing a bit. Instead of the idea of the adventure, I will be writing this in the perspective of a character named Thrak. They will have the ability to dive into the stories other people tell throughout the year including TV Shows! That's right, you heard it! Thrak Attack will now feature the review of TV Shows! I felt like with my upcoming move, Disney+ and Apple TV+ becoming available to me, I would be ready to start my shows and review them. So here's the deal, for season 3 we will be returning to the weekly episode format! Each week there will be a new review of movies, albums, Video Games, and either an episode of a show (f...

S2 Finale- Top 10 Songs of 2020

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? This year brought us a ton of music and great albums but sometimes a specific song transcends the album that it's on and sometimes artists release singles. So this is the list celebrating those gems on mediocre albums and singles artists have released throughout the year! Top 10 Songs of 2020 10. "When You Get That Feeling" by Nate Bo is a debut song from one of my good friends. It's a solid jam with an R&B vibe and wicked vibraphone solo. I used to play music with Nate in college and I'm glad to see him with a successful first song! I can't wait to see what's next for Nate in his career! 9. "Twice Your Size" by Declan McKenna is off his sophomore album titled "Zeros". Although the album suffered from production issues that muddied up the brilliant lyrics, this is the few songs that didn't suffer from that. The energy that this song brings to the table is exactly what t...

S2 Finale- Top 10 Albums of 2020

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure? Even though lots of things changed this year and lots of albums were delayed we still received tons of great music! It was fantastic to see the way musicians would continue to create, perform, and share their art with the world during this crazy year! So here is my Top 10 Albums of 2020. 10. "The Juice" by G. Love is a grammy nominated album from one of my favorite artists. I enjoyed this album and it was one of the first big releases of the year. Even though I am happy to hear this artist is finally nominated for a Grammy, this is not his best album. 9. "CMFT" by Corey Taylor is a strong showing of what metal artist can do with southern rock. We all know what Corey Taylor sounds like in Slipknot and Stone Sour but this is what Corey wants to be doing and it does not disappoint!  8. "A Beautiful Place to Drown" by Silverstein features one of the best album covers of the year and shows that punk r...

S2 Finale- Top 10 Video Games of 2020

Welcome back to Thrak Attack! What's your adventure! Well we made it through 2020 and one of the best aspects this year was the amount of video games that were released, and the amount of time I could play those games! The video game industry was one of the few that benefited from this year. Full disclosure on this list, I couldn't get my hands on either of the next generation consoles but I did get to play a lot on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Google Stadia. I will also not be including any rereleases (sorry Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D All-Stars, Persona 5 Royal, and Xenoblade Chronicles) So without anymore rambling, here are my Top 10 Video Games of 2020 10. Watchdogs: Legions (Stadia) is a great concept that didn't deliver. I love the beginning of the story and I love where the story went but something stopped me from enjoying the game from having an entire city to explore and the chance to recruit anyone but it doesn't take long to realize that it's the sa...
