10. Studio 666 if you told me that the Foo Fighters would be releasing a horror comedy movie this year I wouldn't believe you but they absolutely did. Was it a great movie? No. Was it fun? Yes. And due to me seeing them live the week before at Innings Festival and Taylor Hawkins passing away a week later this made the list. You're welcome Taylor.
9. Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers on Disney+ is the most insane movie released this year (yes even after the last one on the list) but there were so many references and great jokes that it had to make the list. The voice cast, concept, and amount of references are unbelievable and make this movie good enough for the list.
8. Elvis was a wild ride of a movie. The main two cast members drive this movie with the twists and turns in these two's relationship which is ultimately what the movie is about. Although it's about Elvis and his music it's really about The Colonel. The cinematography is wild in this movie though and that's what brings it down.
7. The Adam Project on Netflix is a sequel to 13 Going on 30 and you can't change my mind. A sci-fi time travel movie starring Ryan Reynolds who meets his younger self in the process. It also features Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo as his parents (sound familiar). Mixed with a great soundtrack and plot and you got yourself a fun movie!
6. Luckiest Girl Alive is another Netflix movie that made the list and this one stars Mila Kunis with one of the most real and impactful stories I've seen this year. The flashbacks and the real life implications of this film make it an intense one to watch but well worth it!
5. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the best MCU film of the year and for good reason. Even though the story clearly went through many rewrites the final product is a cohesive story that does right by our fallen king. The addition of Namor makes this film a great end to Marvel Phase 4.
4. Downton Abbey: A New Era is the second film based off the acclaimed TV series of the same name. It's a much better story than the first film because it doesn't need to rely on the show as much. The plot is much better and the characters are aloud to do more this time around.
3. Death on the Nile was released in theaters earlier in the year but I missed it until I watched it on HBO Max this summer. The mystery was much better than the first in the series and the cast was also better in my opinion. Regardless it was a fun mystery that apparently I was really into this year (based on the next entry on the list).
2. A Knives Out Story: The Glass Onion on Netflix is a masterclass on writing characters and character development. The formula is pretty standard but the form of the story is fantastic and shakes it up enough. The stellar cast has a lot to do and work really well together. The mystery is fantastic and has a great twist at the end.
1. Everything, Everywhere All at Once is the multiverse movie that we all deserved but Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness promised but did not deliver. The plot is wild and ramps up to 11 by the end but even behind all the chaos there is so much heart in this story. There was no low point in this movie every aspect is a masterpiece.
